Now that the commercial's been released I can share some of my development work with you! This isn't everything I did of course, but I picked out some of my best pieces from the project to show. To start with, here is the color script I created. This was always under revision as things changed during production.
These are a few panoramic backgrounds I painted. It was a big undertaking since they had to be HD quality and fully layered.
Here's some shots of the stadium for the end sequence. At first I was very nervous about painting the "Bird's Nest" stadium because it looks so complex, but these shots were actually a lot of fun to work on. I did these in a big rush at the very end of the project so they are not as finely detailed as some of my earlier backgrounds, but I enjoyed finding a way to abbreviate some of the detail with my brush strokes.
